Youngstown Air Reserve Station; Renovate Hangar B295 for C130J Conversion
Vienna, OH
Dynotec provided design services for the removal and replacement of mezzanine systems to accommodate new C-130J aircraft operations.
The project scope included the demolition of existing mezzanine equipment, including air compressors, power systems, water heaters, and controls, along with removal of pneumatic HVAC controls, walls separating the mezzanine and hangar, the mezzanine floor, and access ladder.
Dynotec’s design introduced a new mezzanine catwalk with relocated and redesigned equipment, including HVAC systems, frequency converters, water heaters, and air compressors. All pneumatic HVAC control systems and associated plumbing, connections, and controls were removed and replaced with digital systems, ensuring full operational performance after installation.
The new catwalk design supported existing transformers while preserving access to electrical distribution panels mounted on the mezzanine wall. Dynotec maximized usable space while maintaining clearances for contractor access and optimizing functionality for the larger C-130J models.
The Result: The upgraded mezzanine system improved safety, space utilization, and operational efficiency while integrating modernized digital controls. The project earned excellent CPARS ratings, reflecting Dynotec’s quality, schedule adherence, cost management, and regulatory compliance.
