Fairfield Salt Barn
Fairfield County Engineer's Office, Lancaster, OH
Dynotec was tasked to complete the design process for a new Salt Barn location at the south side of the grassed area in the center of the Fairfield County Engineer’s Office yard.
-
Survey the necessary area to create a topographic 3D surface for grading purposes
-
Survey the existing stormwater facilities throughout the grassed area that eventually flow to the basin to the northeast
-
Locate all utilities in the project area, including water line running from Camp Ground Rd.
-
Create design plans in compliance with the City of Lancaster Guidelines for stormwater management, site design, structural design and construction for a 6,000 ton capacity Salt Barn with 10’ poured concrete walls to create the storage.
-
Design Plans will callout approximate locations for the roof foundation but will not perform building cover design. Stormwater grading will be such as to clear foundation areas. Foundation will be separate from retaining wall, similar to Baltimore, OH site location.
-
Dynotec will provide the design for two structural typical sections for the support of the pre-engineering roof. This is in conjunction with the design of the retaining wall for the salt inside of the foundations.
-
Provide retrofit options for the old salt barn location to the west.
-
Stormwater Report in conjunction with City of Lancaster Guidelines
-
One (1) Geotechnical soil boring for the foundation design at this location.
Dynotec’s project deliverables were:
-
Approved Site Design Plans and Drainage Report by the City of Lancaster
-
Retrofit plan for old Salt Barn for Fairfield County Engineer’s review.
