Fire Station #22; Female Shower/Restroom Renovation & Expansion
Columbus, OH
Under a Task Order Contract with the City of Columbus Department of Finance and Management, Dynotec provided architectural and engineering services for the expansion and renovation of the female restroom and shower room at Fire Station #22.

The project converted an existing covered storage area into an expanded locker and shower facility, remaining entirely within the station’s footprint. Dynotec reconfigured the space to maximize efficiency while meeting current building code and ADA accessibility requirements. The design incorporated new plumbing fixtures, interior finishes, toilet/shower accessories, and lockers, while carefully considering sight lines to provide privacy between showering and locker areas.

In addition to architectural improvements, Dynotec evaluated and upgraded the station’s mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Existing deficiencies were identified and addressed before extending services to the renovated area. The roof system was also assessed to ensure it could properly support the new enclosed space and provide long-term durability.

The Result: The upgraded facility offers female firefighters a modern, private, and functional locker and shower space that aligns with current accessibility standards. By integrating system improvements with thoughtful space planning, Dynotec delivered a solution that enhances comfort, efficiency, and long-term usability for Station #22 staff.
